The pet exhibition “Zooindustry” will take place in the Exhibition Center “Mokhaylovsky Manezh” (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) from 4 till 7 of November, 1999.

In this year “Zooindustry” is the joint project of the Publishing House “Zoo Review” and the Exhibition Center “Mikhaylovsky

Manezh.

Trade Mission of France in St.Petersburg, Delegation der Deutschen Wirtschaft in St.Petersburg, the Cultural Center of the USA in St.Petersburg are helping in different aspects of preparations of the exhibition.

Certainly, Russian pet exhibition has great possibilities for importers and for expoprters:

Russia has unique geopolitical position and unifies magnitude different areas with inhabited by million of people.

Moreover our country has tremendous natural resources, which are used in producing of pet products.

Undoubtedly, Russia is a leader in both quantity and diversity of breeds and types of pets (4 thousand of different breeds of pets are inhabited Russia).

But for importers more serious criterion of economic possibilities of the Russian pet market is needs in importation of pet products,

Which are put together 90% from common quantity of selling pet goods in Russia.

The Russian pet market is very young, it is distinguished by very intensive development. These circumstances open great possibilities for firms, which would like to develop new economic areas.

Domestic pet market and our pet exhibition “Zooindustry” are attractive for exporters, because they can propose raw material, ingredients, which are used in producing pet products, especially for aquarium and pond needs.

The quantity of private horse’ owners has growing, new private horse’ clubs have appeared, which went through the last autumn quite well.

Needs in pet supplies of horse’ owners content by import products perfectly.

On the base of the Academy of Sciences of Russia farms for exotic animals are being created and expanded. These farms full private and state collections and they very much need in tanks, terrariums, aquarium’ supplies.
